About
Melbourne Chess Club (MCC) is keeping a monthly FIDE and ACF rated Blitz tournament on a Tuesday each month in 2026. The first of these events will occur on Tuesday 13 January, with details of the format provided below.
Schedule
Tuesday 13th January, 7pm start. As you arrive at MCC at 6.30 ~ 6.45pm, please remember to check-in at the Arbiter's desk. The first round will be paired at around 7pm. Late arrivals will be given a first round bye, as our aim to have everyone seated and ready for play at 7.05pm.

- 9 Round Swiss, ACF/FIDE Rated Time Control: 3 minutes + 2 seconds per move

Check this thread regularly for details about each subsequent blitz tournament. Expected dates for all Tuesday Monthly Blitzes can be found in the 2026 MCC calendar uploaded at the MCC website. A player is only privy to a maximum of 2 half point byes between rounds 1-7. If people want a round 1 bye, let the arbiters know by 6.30pm.
