About

The 2026 Box Hill Chess Club Championship features a 9-round Robin for Division 1 (10 players, by invitation/application for higher-rated players) and a 9-round Swiss tournament for Division 2 (open to all other FIDE-rated players), with a total prize pool of $4650.

Fees

Tournament Entry Fee: $70. Free for GM, WGM, IM, WIM. FM & WFM discount to $35 if registered by Friday 13th March. Membership (required): $85 for Adults, $70 for families and Concession.

Format

Division 1: 9 Round Robin; Division 2: 9 Round Swiss. Rate of Play: 75 min. / player / game plus 30 sec. per move from move one. Forfeiture time: 30 minutes from start time. ACF & FIDE Rated. Total of 9 rounds. A maximum of two half point byes only will be permitted for rounds 1 to 7 (Division 2 only).

Prizes

Total Prize Pool: $4650. Division 1 Prizes: 1st $1500, 2nd $800, 3rd $400, 4th $200. Division 2 Prizes: 1st $700, 2nd $400, 3rd $200. 3 ratings prizes of $150 each.

Eligibility

2026 BHCC membership or 2026 CJCC membership is required. All foreign players must have a FIDE Identification number. Division 2 open to players who must have a FIDE classic rating.
