2026 Byron Capital Darling Downs Open incorporating the Queensland Championships. FIDE, ACF and QJ rated event with a $30,000 prize pool and live streaming of top boards.
This year the Darling Downs Open is combined with the Queensland Championships, with opportunities for GM and IM norms. The event includes 3 divisions and discounted entry for local juniors.
1-5 October 2026. Registration opens 1 April 2026. Premier Division closes 29 September 2026; Major and Minor divisions close 1 October 2026.
Format
FIDE, ACF and Queensland Junior rated classical event. 3 divisions.

Eligibility
Premier Division: 2000 FIDE and above. Major Division: 1200 ACF and above or FIDE under 2000. Minor Division: ACF below 1200 or unrated.
