The 2026 Term 1 LINGLONG CUP Junior Chess Championship is a one-day, 7-rounds Swiss event with 3 divisions, held on Sunday 1 March 2026. LINGLONG TIRE AUSTRALIA guarantees a $1,500 prize fund.
Max. TWO half-point byes could be given from round 1 to 5. See flyer for full details.
Registration from 8:50 am. Round 1 starting at 9:30 am for Division A, 10:00 am for Division B & C. Event runs 09:30am-3:30 pm.:
Format
7-Rounds Swiss, 15 minutes ea plus 5 seconds per move (Fischer). 3 Divisions - capped at 210 entries. FIDE Rapid/ACF Quick/QJ rated for Division A.
Fees
Before and on 26 February: $45 per player, Late: $55. Free for players with QJ rating over 2,000.
Prizes
$1,500 guaranteed prize money. $500 for 1st place. 12 trophies + 11 medals + many ribbons.
Eligibility
All Juniors welcome. Division A requires Queensland players to be a current member of CAQ. In Division A, players without FIDE IDs must be Australian citizens or permanent residents or request a FIDE ID from their country of citizenship.
